How Do Experiences Arise:
Sri Swami Chidananda
This article is a chapter from the book Swami Chidananda Talks in South Africa.

0Radiant Immortal Atman! Blessed divinities! Children of the Divine! Beloved seekers of the Lord! Spiritual aspirants! Yogic practitioners upon the path of practical Yoga! I am very happy to welcome you to this Saturday evening Satsang.
This day as my humble and loving contribution to this Satsang, I would like to offer a little thought for consideration and reflection. I can promise that it will bring added understanding about experiences through which you go in life.
What is the basis of human experiences? Do they really exist outside of you? Have they got an independent existence apart from you? Your joys and sorrows, your happy laughter and your boo-hoo tears—do these things exist in this world outside of you? Do they come and hit you? Or is the actual state or affairs something different?
Even supposing we concede for a while that there is possibly something outside of us that comes and makes us happy or unhappy—even then, it is not due to someone else! This is the great vision and wisdom of the Vedic understanding of life. Ultimately, you are the root of whatever comes to you—even when it seemingly comes to you from outside. You are ultimately the cause of all your experiences—whatever they are—whether they are plus or minus, positive or negative, joy or sorrow. You cannot put the blame on someone else, much less accuse someone else. No one is responsible.
But the even more essential and primal dimension is this first question—is there something at all outside? Is this world capable of giving us experiences? We attribute a great deal of power to this world. But does it deserve it? This is a world of inert things, and we are conscious beings. Who is superior? Can inert things give experiences to conscious beings? I am not talking of your breaking a leg in a car-accident—that is something physical, which the body undergoes just like disease, old-age, infirmities, aches and pains, coughs and colds. Apart from these, the inner experiences of our frustration, disappointment, fulfilment, happiness, sorrow—does this also come from outside? Does it exist apart from us?
One great sage dismissed the whole thing. He made a short and swift answer. He said: “Just consider what happens every day, after you have had a full day of work, social activities etc., and you are exhausted. You go to bed and sleep. And the moment you switch off from this state of waking consciousness and enter into the state of deep sleep, all your problems, sorrows and experiences of this outside world cease to exist! They just vanish out of sight. Everything that prevails during your waking consciousness—from the moment you wake up in the morning, throughout the day—is bundled away. You don’t have any problems, you don’t have any unhappiness—no fear, no disappointment, no frustration, no anxiety, no tension, nothing! You go into a serene state where everything is restful, peaceful and silent.”
And if that state does not come to you for two or three days on end, then you become upset and want to go and see a doctor or take a pill. All people all over the world seek that state—it may be a condemned prisoner in his cell or some man serving a life-sentence, or it may be a hobo who lives merely on scraps or dole, or he may be a multi-billionaire, an emperor. No matter what the outer life is—it may be full of luxury, and yet even he has to seek that other state, night after night. Supposing you say: “Why do you want to go to sleep? Why not keep enjoying these luxuries and riches?” “No. No. No.” The time comes when that state seems to be more covetable. And therefore, the emperor and the beggar, both, seek to enter into a state where this world does not exist—there is no human relationship, there are no psychological hang-ups, no problem or complication of any kind. Everything is ‘Shanti, Shanti, Shantih’. Isn’t this wonderful? What makes us go off into that state where things cease to exist? Well, you can understand it, because when you enter into that state everything is instantaneously, magically, gone! This great sage said, “This is not all. See what happens the moment you wake up. All these things come back to you! Why do they vanish when you enter into sleep; and why do they once again start when you come back into the state of wakefulness?”
They vanish because the mind ceases to be active. The moment you enter into that state, the mind comes to a standstill—there are no thoughts. The moment you wake up, the mind starts to become active, and the moment mental activity commences, the whole world with all its experiences comes back. So, the kingpin of this entire matter is the activity of the mind. This means, if we are able to change the nature of the activity of the mind, we have the key to bring about a change in the nature of experiences that may come to us from outside.
Now, here we are not concerned about all the things. We are concerned about joy and sorrow, because that is the crux of the human situation. We do not want sorrow and pain—we want happiness and joy. That is what everyone is seeking. So, that particular question is more immediate and relevant to us.
All your experiences are created by yourself. You make your own happiness, and you make your own misery. This is the truth. Ponder this truth again and again and again. Right at the very beginning, if you refuse to allow anything in this world to affect you either in this way or that way, then already you have guaranteed what will happen to you and what will not happen to you. And even if it is not done right at the very beginning—supposing a sudden devastating episode occurs, some terrible thing happens, and you are taken unaware—as you look at it, as you are confronted with it, in a lightning flash of moment you think: “Oh no! This is how I am going to react to it. I am not going to allow it to devastate me.” Coming to this instantaneous decision can make all the difference between breaking down and making yourself miserable or standing like a rock no matter what comes.
But then, this lightening decision of the moment, at that split-second, has behind it the whole background of what you have trained yourself to be, what you have listened to, what you have learned as lessons of life, and how you have cultivated yourself—heredity, early environment, your parent’s upbringing, what they did to you, what they told you; and then, your own observations of life, gradual understanding of people, world and its experiences; and then later on, God willing, you begin to go to the source of wisdom, scriptures, philosophical books, and come into contact with those who have gone this way before you, who have gathered insight and wisdom, and you begin to listen and absorb these truths. So, there is this whole background of what you have made of yourself, how you have moulded yourself—that ultimately enables you to successfully come to a split-second decision about any experience. For a person whose background is discrimination, philosophical enquiry, keen observation, analysis, deeper understanding and higher vision, the world has no power to shake him. It cannot break him.
But if this background is not there, then you are playthings in the hands of whatever is outside you. Everything has the power to push and pull and shake you up and make you either weep or laugh. It is unwise to give this power to things outside to manage your life inside. You ought to be the master of your own house—of your own situation within. And therefore, you have to seriously cultivate yourself, carry on discrimination, deep thought, and also learn lessons by observing other people’s lives. You must know clearly—‘This is it, this is life’. That is what the great sages did. They saw.
You have the beautiful saying: “O Lord! Give me the courage to change that which can be changed, the serenity to accept that which cannot be changed and the wisdom to know the difference.” In this way, they saw the inevitable, accepted it and came to terms with it. They said: “This is so. I should accept it. I should learn to relate myself in the right way.” Our experiences, our happiness, our misery, joy and sorrow, are by and large, 95%—a matter of how we know ourselves, and how we relate ourselves to our inner life.
I will give you some examples. Here, I am talking to you as seekers in whom the enquiry has already arisen in the mind. We all recently heard about the baby, who was born with some defect in the heart and was specially flown all the way from South Africa to America. They tried to save it. There was a great deal of anxiety to the parents. And ultimately the baby died. Great sorrow.
Now, apparently, the death of a child is an outer event—‘apparently’. But philosophy wants you to ask yourself— ‘How many children are not born like this? And how many don’t die like this?’ Maybe in our neighbourhood, in the family next door—but it does not make a great difference to me! It does not put me into terrible sorrow. Nevertheless, it is happening. There are people ill and dying of cancer—cancer hospitals are full of cancer patients, children’s hospitals are full of terribly ill and dying children—and yet, we go along as though these things never existed! Why is it that when it happens in ‘your’ family, to ‘you’—that you become filled with sorrow and you suffer?
It is not because the child died or because some person is suffering from cancer that you are in great grief. It is because of ‘my’ child or ‘my’ brother’s son, or ‘my’ nephew—whom ‘I’ love very much. It is because the mind has conceived of a particular relationship. So you trace the experience to the state of your mind, to the special way in which the mind has related itself to that thing.
I give you another example. Suppose you are waiting at the bus-stop. Fire engines are rushing, bells clanging, sirens flitting. You are not very seriously concerned. But during your journey someone tells you that it appears that the fire is in ‘your’ area, ‘your’ road—then a chill catch holds of you. You are gripped by anxiety; you are a changed being. Immediately you are in a terrible state, you have no peace of mind—” O God! It may be ‘my’ home?” And if actually it is ‘your’ home—finished! Your world is falling apart.
This is ‘mine’-ness—the special state of mind with regard to that particular object or thing. If a bank or financial firm crashes and goes into liquidation, you are not bothered—provided you have not invested in it! You simply continue your cup of coffee. But if it happens to be ‘your’ bank, and all ‘your’ finance is already invested—the bulk of your earnings and savings—Oh! Your coffee falls down, and you run to the phone. Then you are like the proverbial cat on hot bricks. What is this? Do you ever ponder it? It is not because ‘something has happened’ that experiences hit you. It is because there is already something there, in you, with regard to that particular thing. And when you become tired, go to bed, and dose off to sleep—no anxiety, no misery, no sorrow, no disappointment. Everything is alright. You enjoy like a prince. Why? The mind is not active!
Ultimately your experience is due to two factors. One is this special way in which the mind thinks of a particular thing, event or circumstance. If a civil war breaks out in some country and your daughter and son-in-law are living there, then it becomes very important to you. But if no one belonging to you is in that country, then it is just like any other thing—far off, something happening, many people concerned, many being killed—but that doesn’t bother you one little bit!
The second factor, as already mentioned to you, is the way in which you have cultivated and trained your mind to receive things, to meet things, to face things. If it is in a negative way, then every experience has the power to put you out of balance. If it is in a positive, creative and right way, then you go through life serene and unaffected—a little bit of impact is there, but at same time, you have already created within you a core of strength. Call it philosophy, higher wisdom, deeper understanding or equanimity—or all these ingredients put together. It is this second factor that determines in what way you face and meet life, and in what way you move through the inevitable ups and downs, vicissitudes and variations. The crux of this matter of human experience is your mind, and how you relate to your mind. Are you a puppet in its hands? Or are you its master? Or are you weak and helpless, unable to do anything about your own internal situation? You have to decide.
It is the same with your senses. The Gita says that the controlled senses of a person are his greatest friend, and the uncontrolled senses are his greatest enemy. If your senses are under your control, they cannot bring you suffering; and if your senses are not under your control, they become the cause of your suffering—any number of painful experiences, disease and suffering. There is a limit to which the senses can bring about suffering, because they operate mainly upon the physical level. Even more so is the mind; the extent to which the mind can affect you—the sky is the limit!
Therefore, recognise the fact that you are the creator of all your experiences; and therefore, you can change them. If you are able to bring about a changed situation within, then your progress towards the Ultimate Reality can go on unhampered. But if you cannot change this, then in spite of your highest aspirations, best intentions, love for ideals etc.—you will always have pitfalls. You will always be plagued and badgered by this thing inside. At every step you will find some difficulty, and so the progress will be slow.
Not without reason did the ancient men of wisdom in India say:
Mana eva manushyanamkaranam bandhamokshayoh
The mind of human beings alone is the cause of their bondage as well as liberation.
Peace be unto all beings, peace be unto you all, and the joy of the Lord!
Hari Om Tat Sat.

Swami Chinmayananda:
Use the simple mantra, “Om Sri Balagopalaya Namaha.”
If you can do it regularly for fifteen minutes first Saguna and then Nirguna as the very “life” in us, and all the time try to keep this Balagopala-idea in your heart all through the day, in and through all the work you do, then in itself it can be a very powerful sadhana spiritual.
Please note: Any mantra of your ishta devata (your favourite deity) can be chanted regularly as per the guideline suggested by Swami Chinmayananda.
===================================================
The great religious masters of India, using their own ingenious efforts, have time and again revived the philosophical and religious values for which India stood and thereby arrested the deterioration of the culture.
When culture deteriorates there is an increase in barbarity and immorality in the country and its philosophy is misinterpreted, leading to confusion and chaos among its people. This, in short, is more or less the sad condition of the present world. The need of the hour is to arrest forthwith the deterioration by reviving the great philosophical and religious values of life. In no other literature in the world have these values been so beautifully and exhaustively dealt with as in the sacred books of India.
In this context we may note the following advice given to the students by the Rishi of the Taittiriya Upanishad : The practice of what is right and proper is fixed by the scriptural texts; it is to be followed along with reading the texts oneself and propagating the truths of the same. (“Truths”: this means that practising in life what is understood to be right and proper is to be pursued along with regular studies and preaching.)
This Upanishadic passage closely parallels the corresponding function that we have in our colleges today, which goes by the term, “Convocation Address”. The students of the Gurukula are given some key ideas on how they should live lives dedicated to their culture, consistent with what has been taught to them as the goal and way of life.
More than Just Facts:
It must be the duty of the educationists to see that they impart to the growing generation not merely some factual knowledge or some wondrous theories but also ideals of pure living, and training in how to live those ideals in practical life. In short, the secret of a sound culture is crystallized in this convocation address; this portion is more exhaustively amplified in the section that follows the address.
In this section the teacher presents twelve immortal ideas of living and rules of conduct. An equal number of times he has insisted that the student continue his study of the scriptures and propagate the immortal ideas of his culture all through his life. In these passages, we find that the brilliant students are repeatedly commissioned to continue their study and be preachers throughout their lifetime. The Upanishadic style lies in its brevity. Use of even a syllable more than the minimum required is considered as a great sin; yet, here we find in a small section twelve repetitions of the same idea; study (swadhyaya) and discoursing upon the Veda with a view to making others understand (pravachana).
For this missionary work the Rishis never saw any necessity in organizing a special class of teachers. The preaching activity was built into the duty of every householder. In the pursuit of his vocation, the householder was not asked to spare any special time or to sacrifice his duties either towards himself or towards his own children, the society, the nation or the world. But while emphasizing the need to pursuing his duties at all these levels, the Rishis asked him to keep continuously in touch with the scriptures and to preach the same truth to others.
The great qualities that the teacher has insisted upon are:
(a) The practice of what is right and proper as indicated in the scriptures (ritam).
(b) Living up to the ideals that have been intellectually comprehended during the studies (satyam).
(c) Aspirit of self – sacrifice and self – denial (tapas).
(d) Control of the senses (dama).
(e) Tranquillity of the mind (sama).
(f) Maintenance of a charitable and ready kitchen at home in the service of all deserving hungry fellow beings (agni).
(g) Practice of concentration and ritualism through fire worship as was in vogue in the society of those days; and
(h) Doing one’s duty towards humanity, towards one’s children and grandchildren and towards the society.
Continuing the “Convocation Address”, the teacher says: Having taught the Vedas, the preceptor enjoins the pupil: “Speak the truth, do your duty, never swerve from the study of the Vedas; do not cut off the line of descendants in your family, after giving the preceptor the guru dakshina. Never deviate from the truth, never fail in your duty, never overlook your own welfare, never neglect your prosperity, never neglect the study and the propagation of the Vedas.”
After the studies, before the students are let out to meet their destinies in their independent individual life as social beings, the teacher gives his exhortation, which comprises, we might say, “Vedanta in practice”.
Relationship to Society:
Satyam vada, “Speak the truth”: Truthfulness consists mainly in uttering a thought as it is actually perceived, without hypocrisy or any vulgar motive to do injury to others. Truthfulness in its essential meaning is the attunement of one’s thoughts with one’s own intellectual convictions.
Having developed this quality of truthfulness, where should one apply it? As if anticipating such a doubt in the student, the teacher says, dharmam Chara. Dharma is a Sanskrit word that has no corresponding word in English. We may, for our convenience, but not to our full satisfaction, translate dharma as “duty”.
Hinduism is built upon duties and responsibilities, not on rights. A culture built upon duties recognizes the right to do one’s duty as the fundamental privilege in life. A generation that understands such a culture gets trained to demand of life ample chances to fulfil its duties. Duty, therefore, develops the spirit of giving, not the lust to hoard or the anxiety to keep.
The sequence of thoughts — “After giving the preceptor his fees, do not cut off the thread of progeny” — implies a healthy suggestion as how best to plan one’s life. After finishing your education, first of all become economically independent; learn a trade, create a market, assure a comfortable income. Then, as the next duty in life, marry and maintain the line of descendents in the family. This is followed by a series of warnings not to swerve from truthfulness, duty, personal welfare and prosperity. The Rishi advised the students to be prosperous so that they would be able to serve others in selfless charity. It is reasserted that we must pursue the study of the scriptures and make it a life’s mission to spread those truths among ourselves with a burning, irresistible missionary zeal.
Continuing the advice, the teacher says: Never swerve from your duties towards gods and towards the departed “souls” (manes). May the mother, father, preceptor and the guest be to thee a god.
Relationship to the Teacher:
Philosophy is a subjective science, and its blessing can be gained only by actually living it. Apart from its logic and reason, the theory must have the dynamism of the teacher behind it to inspire the students at all times. If this reverence and respect for the teacher are not there, the moment suspicion and doubt creep into our minds regarding the purity and sincerity of the teacher, the philosophy that is declared becomes immediately impotent in our hearts. Therefore, the teacher says, “Follow only the irreproachable qualities in us.” Wearing the look of the ordinary and behaving as any ordinary mortal, these men of perfection faced their students. This, in fact, was the secret of their success in spreading the transcendental wisdom among people living amid life’s conditions in their day – to – day existence. The idea of the advice to students was that you must be all ears and eyes when the wise talk and not be full of noise and tongue. When such teachers discuss, there are plenty of ideas that one must try to absorb, discuss later on and assimilate properly.
Practicing Charity:
Continuing the address to the students, the Rishi adds: Gifts should be given with faith: they should never be given without faith; they should be given in plenty, with modesty and with sympathy.
Hinduism recognizes the householder’s existence only as a necessary training in curbing his animalism and purifying him for the greater heights of spirituality. Cultural perfection is the goal. Ultimately the individual was valued upon the spirit of sacrifice he could show toward the finite, when the call of the Infinite reached him. Naturally, therefore, the teacher has to give some instruction as to how charity can best be practised. Therefore, charity is acceptable only when it toes the line with our own independent intellectual beliefs and convictions.
Indiscriminate charity is not acceptable to the science of Vedanta, which is not trying to cultivate fruit trees. Its aim is to cultivate the thinking animal called “man”. Therefore, the Rishi pointedly condemns the opposite idea by the positive declaration. “Gifts should not be given without faith.” Every benefactor has the right, even the duty, to inquire into the righteousness of the cause he is trying to patronize. It is said that having come to judge a cause to be deserving, give it your entire patronage: “Give in plenty; with both hands, give.” However, charity can bring to us the feeling of egoism and vanity. These are avoided by instructions to give with modesty. Charity constricts the heart and obstructs human growth if it is not honeyed with the spirit of love and the joy of identification.
Proper Conduct:
Coming to the end of the “Convocation Address” given to the students, the Rishi says: Now if there should arise any doubt regarding your acts or any uncertainty in respect of your conduct in life and with regard to those who are falsely accused of some crime, you should conduct yourselves exactly in the same manner as do the brahmanas there, who are thoughtful, religious, not set on by others, not cruel, and are devoted to dharma.
An ideal Brahmin should be one who is not set on by others. He must not be cruel. He must be a self – dedicated champion of the greater values of life as explained in the immortal scriptures. Such men of dedicated life, firmly established in their ideas and stoutly independent, are the true sons of the Hindu culture, and the student is asked to follow them whenever there is a doubt regarding either action or conduct.
The above passages, starting with satyam vada, consisting of twenty – five items and divisible into six waves of thought, constitute the sacred commandments of Hinduism. The waves of thought as indicated in this section are advice regarding (1) the individual himself, (2) his relationship with others, (3) his right action in the world, (4) his attitude toward the eminent men of culture, (5) the laws of charity, and (6) his duty to follow the eminent living men of his own times.
In the seventh wave of thought, the teacher concludes by saying that these commandments are to be followed diligently by every intelligent seeker who lives a life for a higher cultural purpose — more than mere worldly ambitions and secular activities.
In short, over the shoulders of the students, as it were, the Rishi is addressing the entire community to follow these commandments and bring about the perfect cultural and spiritual unfoldment in themselves and in the society.
Swami Chinmayananda:
Vedanta's strength lies in its positivity, and it leads man away from his present confusions and misunderstandings and ushers him into Godhood, which is then experienced there as a positive EXISTENCE.

13. Ecology: Man, and Nature is inseparable. Man, and his natural environment are inter-related and mutually interdependent. Everything in Nature contributes to our protection and nourishment. Let us, therefore, protect our natural environment. Helping in maintaining the ecological balance is our duty. It is indispensable for our safe living and highest welfare. 14. Unity: The more united the people of a country, the greater is their ability to withstand all obstacles and dangers. United we stand, divided we fall. This is particularly true about today’s India. Therefore, let us live in close harmony and loving goodwill with all our countrymen. Love of our country means love of our countrymen. This is the most invaluable service a Citizen of India, can offer to our Motherland.
15. Education: The process of education should incorporate within it the imparting of the basic knowledge of India’s great culture, its lofty ideals and noble values and principles of living. Our education has to be oriented for enriching and enhancing the quality of life of our youth and students.

Opinion | Rahul's Rhetoric Dents India's Global Image: Rajiv Tuli, Prashant Barthwal: Sep 18, 2024 14:53 pm IST: NDTV.
=====================================================================================
Indian politics has reached a critical juncture, where finding a resolution to the current turmoil seems elusive. While dissent and disagreements are inherent to political discourse, they should not translate into anti-national activities. Ideological conflicts are a natural part of politics and, ideally, should lead to constructive criticism aimed at improving public welfare policies rather than being driven solely by a quest for power. However, the current political climate does not bode well for India. Since the general election results, the role of the opposition has increased, but it is troubling to note that the opposition's significance appears to be diminishing.
In a democratic country like India, a strong opposition is generally seen as a positive force. Yet, when ideological differences devolve into hate politics, it becomes a serious concern. Today's opposition seems so disoriented that it is willing to abandon truth and national security in favour of political gains. This was evident when opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi, often criticized for his short-sightedness, took it upon himself to present a distorted image of India overseas. His remarks, which frequently criticize India's unity and diversity, reflect a troubling trend. At times, he portrays Hindus as violent or intolerant, while other times, he aligns with Western perspectives to undermine Indian culture and the freedoms of Indian women, calling them myths.
Rahul Gandhi failed to mention to his American audience that Narendra Modi has actively promoted women's rights. Instead, he questioned the entire electoral process, alleging that the BJP manipulated the Election Commission (EC) and claiming that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were hacked, implying that the results would have been different if the EC had been non-partisan. Critics argue that these claims undermine Modi's third term. Such statements could be music to the ears of nations like Pakistan and China, which have little regard for Indian interests and could use this as an opportunity to further their own agenda.
It is dishonest and detrimental to highlight India's alleged problems with exaggerations and falsehoods to score political points and present oneself favourably abroad. This raises questions about the underlying motives: Is this meant to portray India as a fractured nation and a dysfunctional democracy, thereby inviting foreign intervention?
Even more concerning are Rahul Gandhi's comments regarding Sikhs. During his time in the United States, he suggested that the core issue in India was whether Sikhs could wear a turban, carry a kada, or visit a gurdwara. His frequent criticism of India during his foreign travels, including engaging with individuals associated with an anti-India agenda, is highly objectionable. Notably, figures like Ilhan Omar, who have criticized Kashmir's status, align with the INC and Rahul's political stances.
A report sponsored by Friends of Democracy (an organization linked to George Soros), titled "The Modi Mirage: New Study Indicates a Decline in India's Global Reputation under BJP," was released on May 6, 2024, coinciding with the Indian elections. This report, curated by Professor Irfan Nooruddin of Georgetown University, Dr. Subir Sinha of London University, and Dr. Ritumbra Manuvie of Groningen University, synthesizes research from sources like Pew Research Centre, V-Dem, and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. These sources have been involved in anti-India propaganda.
Rahul Gandhi's portrayal of India as a caste-obsessed society where people cannot freely practice their faith and where certain groups are unsafe is erroneous and misleading. His statements, which reflect the views of social media influencers from specific castes and those advocating for a separate Kashmir, undermine the unity and integrity of India. Such objectionable rhetoric from the INC only serves to harm India's global standing and its internal cohesion.
Rahul Gandhi believes that affirmative action will revive the Congress Party in India. He has repeatedly criticized the country's backward castes and communities for their lack of opportunities. His remarks abroad portray India as a Brahmin-Baniya nexus where no one else can succeed. This narrative is misleading and undermines the significant efforts India has made since independence to uplift large sections of its population, who endured centuries of foreign rule. Such statements discredit the efforts of his party to offer all Indians a fair chance, especially considering the Gandhi family's long history of leadership in independent India.
Gandhi also falsely accuses the RSS, which is linked to the BJP, of devaluing certain Indian languages and cultures. He claims that the RSS and its affiliate's view Tamil, Marathi, Manipuri, and Bengali as inferior. However, Rahul Gandhi overlooks Prime Minister Modi's efforts to celebrate India's diverse languages and traditions. For instance, Modi has repeatedly hailed Tamil as one of the world's oldest languages and the BJP manifesto promises to promote Tamil globally. The government has also initiated the annual Kashi Tamil Sangamam, a month-long celebration highlighting the ancient ties between Tamil Nadu and Varanasi, aiming to bridge the north-south divide that has been politically manipulated by some factions.
The recent UNCIRF (UN Commission on International Religious Freedom) report, which labels India as a 'country of particular concern,' seems to reflect a coordinated and biased narrative aimed at undermining India's rising status as a global power. Such interventions, often misguided, raise serious questions about the understanding of India's cultural fabric and reflect the biases of those behind them. The campaign against India abroad involves various fronts with lofty names but similar motives, all working to tarnish India's global image. Reports by organizations like V-Dem, which are perceived to have a colonial bias, circulate in India's political discourse, often targeting the Modi Government.
India is poised for significant progress, and a strong and resurgent India is not in the interests of many global powers. The year 2024 is a turning point in Indian history, marked by attempts to erode nationalistic sentiments through slanted narratives aimed at dividing society. Despite these efforts, India continues to advance towards its goal of becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047. The Congress Party and the INDI Alliance, which Rahul Gandhi has derisively mocked, have adopted divisive narratives against Narendra Modi and BJP leaders. This stance is particularly intriguing given India's commitment to pluralism and respect for all communities.
Rahul Gandhi's approach, driven by divisive and appeasement politics, ultimately harms both the Hindu community and the nation. A leadership that represents all Indians, rather than specific communities, is essential. Rahul Gandhi's remarks reveal political immaturity and an anti-national agenda. His statements on global platforms seem more focused on scoring political points rather than fostering constructive dialogue. His actions raise doubts about whether he aims to promote or tarnish India's image for personal gain. It is crucial to oppose such divisive politics to protect India's democracy and cultural values.
