20/02/2019 Brahman is beyond mind and speech, beyond concentration and meditation, beyond the knower, the known and knowledge, beyond even the conception of the real and unreal. In short, It is beyond all relativity. Right discrimination is of two kinds — analytical and synthetical. The first leads one from the phenomena to the Absolute Brahman, while by the second one knows how the Absolute Brahman appears as the universe. ***

20/02/2019 A Guru is extremely essential in the spiritual path. You must daily worship your Guru. You must invoke His blessings commencing your daily Sadhana or any important function. Then all your efforts will be crowned with success. There is no friend like Guru. Difficult is the attainment of Self-realisation, without the grace of Guru. Remember: Without reverence and obedience to Guru or the preceptor and without his grace, the aspirant cannot have success in the practice of Yoga. A saint is God incarnate. A saint is one who identifies his soul with the Universal Soul. A saint sees the whole world as the projection of his own soul. A sage is sees unity in diversity. He becomes one with the whole world. The actions done by a saint are like the roasted grains which cannot sprout in the best of soil. A saint is free from the past Karmas and the Present Karmas. A saint is careless of his physical state. He takes no thought of his body. Service of the saints is the door which l...

20/02/2019 The existence of what is called the knower is the beginning of all consistent thinking - rationally, scientifically or philosophically. There would be no science, no philosophy, nothing meaningful or significant in the world, if the very existence of the knower is doubtful. Charity of things is of less consequence than possession of charitable feelings, and resorting to charitable speech, charitable demeanour, and charitable actions through a general charitable temperament. This is, in short, what is called self-sacrifice, for it involves parting with some part of the delights of the ego. ***

19/02/2019 Playing the *Mind In an attempt to teach detachment, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda would “play” with his devotees and sevaks attachments. One such example is of Smt. Vilasini ji who often observed him doing this. In the summer of 1981, she travelled with him as his secretary while he was in the U.S.A. and during this time, he taught her a great lesson. From the first to the last Jnana Yagna, he was changing his mind back and forth about whether she should come to India that year to video his discourses. Her emotions were swinging from great excitement to disappointment. One day, he commented, “Why doesn’t Vilasini come to India in the fall and video the talks?” The next week, he said, “What is the hurry, why rush, she can come in a few years.” A week later, it would be, “Why don’t you come now?” Her mind went up and down like a roller coaster, getting excited and despondent, until she finally realized what he was doing. She told herself to let go and surrender, a...

19/02/2019 Who can solve this and guide them in a right path without dissipating the energy and inspiration? Parents are often searching for an answer to this question. In fact, children at a certain stage are becoming a concern for every parent. We need proactive measures to guide, motivate and inspire every child into the the right path of progress without any mental imbalance and drive them to their ultimate potentialities. Bhagavatham Village of North America is organizing a “Srividya Pooja” for the children to facilitate this growth. God comes in our life in the form of opportunities, when we grab it, we are the blessed. Make your children blessed and graceful !!! ***

19/02/2019 If you want to be a Yogi, you must be free, and place yourself in circumstances where you are alone and free from all anxiety. One who desires a comfortable and nice life and, at the same time, wants to realize the Atman is like the fool who, wanting to cross the river, caught hold of a crocodile mistaking it for a log of wood. If you want to have life, you have to die every moment for it. Life and death are only different expressions of the same thing looked at from different standpoints; they are the falling and the rising of the same wave, and the two form one whole. ***
